Record electricity usage at Ashford truckstop

Ashford, UK: In one month, more than 38,000kWh of electricity was consumed at Ashford International Truckstop by refrigerated trailers.

Operators saved 12,000 litres of diesel simply by switching to electric trailer cooling while parked overnight, says NomadPower, which provides the equipment at Ashford.

NomadPower provides a sustainable, cheap, quiet and clean solution to stop using diesel generators to power on-board cool units, the company says.

Drivers of refrigerated trucks can plug in rather than use diesel to power the fridge. It means they get a better rest on a short stop or overnight stay. Regular charging with NomadPower reduces costs compared to using diesel, Nomad says.
