Birmingham, UK: A new 3.5-tonne electric light commercial chassis cab has been launched in the UK and Ireland. The OHM Vehicles 3.5-tonne electric light commercial chassis cab is imported Fapi Motors, a Singapore-based vehicle provider.
The OHM 35 battery electric vehicle, in right-hand drive, is on display at the CV Show and will go to market in the days after the show. The first left-hand drive models for the European market were unveiled at IAA Transportation in Hanover last September, with Fapi Motors invited to import the vehicles in the UK and Ireland, using the CV Show to actively find and appoint an appropriate dealer network.
Hermann Mallia, director, Fapi Motors, says: “We’re excited to bring the stylish and versatile OHM 35 BEV to the UK and Ireland. Packed with the latest electric driveline technology, we are confident the chassis will deliver outstanding performance across a wide range of applications, helping companies to improve the sustainability of their transport operations.”
OHM operates a ‘satellite’ manufacturing model with principal production taking place in China, complemented by a range of partner facilities across Europe.
OHM designed the chassis which delivers 280km range and a body and payload capacity of up to two tonnes. The electric motor and inverter technologies deliver 3,150Nm of peak torque at the wheels. Through intelligent energy conversion, the OHM 35 can maintain higher sustained speeds over longer distances than many of its direct competitors, making it a cost-effective option for fleets across all sectors, the company says.
The chassis and battery assembly have bodybuilder flexibility in mind, allowing many body options including temperature-controlled transport.
