Easton, Lincolnshire: Magnavale is investing £130m on its new cold storage development in Easton, Lincolnshire. The company says the site will be “Europe’s most efficient temperature-controlled storage facility”.
Magnavale says it has achieved many of its development milestones since breaking ground in September 2022 and some of the aspects of the project have already been completed.
“McClaren has finished the main concrete slab, and the low bay has now been clad,” says the company. “In addition, the steelwork for the staircase in the new office block has been completed. We have now started constructing the automation in the low bay as well as the high bay cladding. An essential component, the pallet crane system, responsible for the automated handling of pallets into the racking system, is currently being erected.
“Along with the installation of the electrical infrastructure and the fire suppression system, we are constructing the refrigeration and oxygen reduction plantrooms, crucial components for what will be Europe’s most efficient cold store.”
Magnavale is confident that the cold storage development will be complete in the fourth quarter of 2024.
