Marshall Fleet Solutions gets ISO 14001 certification

Cambridge, UK: Marshall Fleet Solutions has gained ISO 14001 accreditation, a set of standards defined by International Organization for Standardization, mapping out the specifications and evaluation criteria for environmental management systems.

Marshall Fleet Solutions’ push for ISO 14001 certification ties into the broader Marshall group’s Ambition 2030 programme, which focuses on developing sustainable products and services to help customers meet their climate action targets.

Work started in early 2022 to build Marshall Fleet Solutions’ environmental management system in line with the requirements of the standard. External certification audits began in March 2023, and were concluded in July with the recommendation for certification.

Across the business, this entailed raising awareness of environmental risks through education sessions, while also identifying the environmental aspects, risks and issues of all operating activities. The Health, Safety and Environment group worked with all Marshall Fleet Solutions sites to ensure that necessary control measures were put in place and maintained.

Mark Howell, managing director, Marshall Fleet Solutions, said, “This initiative was spearheaded by our industry-leading Health, Safety and Environment group, and involved pulling together complex sets of requirements spanning our entire footprint as a business.

“Gaining ISO 14001 gives us further confidence in our efforts to reduce our carbon further with new environmental initiatives.”

The first certification body audits, necessary in order to maintain accreditation, will take place in early 2024.
