Waste reduction with Apollo panels for refrigerators

London, UK: Phase Change Solutions and First Series are to sell Phase Change Solutions Apollo Panels in the UK. The panels eliminate medicine waste and lower the carbon footprint through reduced energy consumption of refrigerators, Phase Change Solutions says.

Trials of Apollo panels completed in August 2023 were highlighted in the Health Innovation East report.

First Series will distribute the panels that provide up to seven additional hours of temperature protection during power outages and/or mechanical failures. In addition, using Apollo Panels reduces maintenance on refrigeration equipment while increasing product life cycle, Phase Change Solutions says. The panels are available from Williams Medical, distributor of Apollo Panels in the UK.

Simon Gold, principal, First Series, said: “The Apollo Panels will be a valuable addition to our product portfolio offering assurance that product waste can be eliminated while saving energy.”

Phase Change Solutions is using its patented BioPCM technology to absorb and release thermal energy at precise temperatures and minimise stress on compressors in refrigerators to reduce their carbon footprint.

“We are excited to partner with First Series, introducing BioPCM based products, in the UK. In keeping with our principles of circularity, our goal is to eliminate pharmaceutical product waste with advanced materials solutions,” said Govi Rao, chief executive, Phase Change Solutions.
