Tower Cold Chain partners with Cryopdp to expand temperature range

Reading, UK: Temperature-controlled container company Tower Cold Chain and Cryopdp have joined forces to expand their services to the pharmaceutical supply chain. The collaboration focuses on temperature-controlled services for clinical research, to address the evolving needs of patients.

Tower Cold Chain is broadening its portfolio by incorporating Cryopdp’s dry vapour shippers for cryogenic goods, which maintain temperatures from -196°C to -150°C. These insulated aluminium vessels, filled with liquid nitrogen (LN2) and equipped with absorbent materials, ensure the safe transport and preservation of cryopreserved goods. This addition allows Tower to offer a comprehensive range of passive temperature-controlled services, catering to all shipment sizes and temperature needs from -196°C to +25°C.

In return, Cryopdp will now offer its customers Tower’s fully reusable small box solutions with the KTEvolution range, which includes 12-litre, 26-litre, and 57-litre options. These are ideal for small payloads and last-mile delivery at -80°C to +20°C.

Niall Balfour, chief executive at Tower Cold Chain, said: “We are delighted to announce our collaboration with CRYOPDP, which allows us to expand our product range. This partnership enables Tower to offer sustainable, cryogenic-level solutions to the pharmaceutical supply chain, ultimately helping to improve patient outcomes worldwide.”

Cedric Picaud, chief executive of Cryopdp, said: “Working with Tower Cold Chain enables us to become a one-stop shop for our customers. We can now meet our sustainability targets by offering fully reusable containers for temperature-sensitive logistics. Together, we can provide pharmaceutical manufacturers with the most comprehensive range of temperature-controlled solutions available.”
