London, UK: TIP is trialling the Thermo King and BPW trailer axle-powered refrigeration system.
The energy generated from the axle is stored in a high voltage battery which, in turn, provides power to the refrigeration unit when needed.
The trial sees a new TIP refrigerated trailer go into operation in the UK by a TIP customers that have already declared an interest in experiencing the new temperature-controlling technology.
Reports on the capability and efficiency of the e-reefer technology during use on UK roads will be produced as part of the trial and made available to interested parties.
TIP’s move towards decarbonised refrigeration transportation continues with its ongoing programme of trialling the different ‘e-reefer’ trailer technologies available.
