London, UK: Aldi is planning to open 500 more stores in the UK, Giles Hurley, chief executive, Aldi UK and Ireland, told Sky News today.
Speaking to Business Live with Ian King, Hurley said Aldi now has a long-term target of 1,500 stores – building on an earlier goal of opening 1,200 sites by 2025.
Aldi has a 1,000 stores and is the UK’s fourth largest supermarket, overtaking Morrisons by market share last year.
