Axscend Trailermaster registers EBPMS as trademark

Runcorn, UK: Axscend, the company behind Trailermaster trailer telematics, has gained registered trademark status for its electronic brake performance monitoring system.

Axscend, part of SAF-Holland, developed the system in 2014. Glenn Young, UK sales manager, Axscend said: “Our electronic brake performance monitoring system was another step on our journey towards offering customers a truly connected trailer management solution.

“At the time the name of the solution was abbreviated to EBPMS. It’s since gone on to become something of an industry term when talking about remote brake monitoring and testing systems.”

EBPMS allows users to remotely monitor the condition and performance of trailer brakes via the Trailermaster portal, which alerts the user to issues requiring attention. It is also accepted by the DVSA as an alternative to roller-brake testing so avoiding time and expense of bringing trailers for testing.

“EBPMS was truly an industry first and like any innovation: other products have entered the market promising customers an EBPMS solution, but we regard ours as the original and best,” Young said.

“We’re flattered that the term EBPMS has been so widely adopted as an industry term, and the registered trademark is just a quiet reminder of our continued role in transforming the ‘norm’ of how trailer fleets are managed.”
