Swedish wholesaler Beijer Ref has acquired the US HVACR distributors Key Refrigeration Supply and Dennis Supply Company.
The companies are said to have a combined annual turnover of approximately SEK800m ($84m).
Dennis Supply Company was founded in 1935 and is headquartered in Sioux City, Iowa. It operates 13 branches across Iowa, South Dakota, Nebraska and Wyoming.
Key Refrigeration Supply, founded in 1999 and headquartered in North Kansas City, Missouri, operates six branches in Kansas and Missouri.
Both companies are members of the Key Wholesaler Group Association (KWGA), a buying group based in North Kansas City.
The establishment of Key Refrigeration Supply in 1999 was backed by investment from Dennis Supply Co president, Carter Dennis, and fellow KWGA members DL Dennis from Wayne Dennis Supply of Des Moines, Iowa, and George Giudici from Crescent Parts & Equipment Co of St Louis, Missouri.
With 19 independent HVACR distributor members, KWGA negotiates buying agreements with over 70 vendors.
Beijer Ref has not indicated whether membership of the KWGA will continue but confirmed that the companies would continue to operate under their respective brands.
“These acquisitions support and strengthen our regional presence by building on the strong foundation we have already established. We look forward to continuing these companies’ growth journeys in partnership with their existing management teams,” said Beijer Ref CEO Christopher Norbye.
