Boon Food Group adds five new Actros tractors

Dordrecht, Netherlands: Boon Food Group has taken five new Actros 1840LS tractors to be used to move goods from its distribution centre to supermarkets, mainly in the west and southwest of the Netherlands.

In line with the company’s sustainable ambitions, Boon opted for refrigerated trailers without a diesel engine. “The energy of this fully electric refrigerated trailer is generated by a specially mounted energy axle so there are no CO2 emissions and the combination is quieter, which prevents noise nuisance for local residents during unloading,” said Jan Willem Gosseling of Fleetcraft, responsible for Boon Food Group’s fleet management for the past two years.

Boon Food Group supplies food and fresh products to its own supermarkets and supermarkets of third parties daily.
