Carrier’s E-Cool takes Product of the Year Award

Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, US: Carrier Transicold’s all-electric, autonomous Vector E-Cool trailer refrigeration system, took the Environment + Energy Leader, Top Product of the Year award.

The first autonomous, all-electric engineless Vector E-Cool trailer system launched in 2020. It combines Carrier’s E-Drive technology with an energy recovery and storage system that converts kinetic energy generated by the trailer axles into electricity.

The electricity is stored in a battery pack to power the refrigeration unit. This loop creates a fully autonomous system that produces no direct carbon dioxide (CO2) or particulate emissions, Carrier says.

The Environment + Energy Leader Awards is a program recognising excellence in products and services that provide companies with energy and environmental benefits, and in projects implemented by companies that improved environmental or energy management and increased the bottom line.

The win is an indication that the program’s expert judges consider the Vector E-Cool system a top example of the exemplary work being done today in the fields of energy and environmental management, Carrier says.

“The Vector E-Cool system underlines Carrier Transicold’s commitment to providing solutions designed at reducing emissions, improving reliability and increasing efficiency throughout the refrigerated transport sector.”

“The Vector eCool system is the latest example of how Carrier is working to help its customers reduce their carbon footprint by more than 1 gigaton as part of its 2030 Environmental, Social and Governance goals,” Carrier says.
