Climarite apprentices reach third awards final in 2024

Skelmersdale, Lancashire, UK: A pair of apprentices from Climarite Refrigeration have reached the final stages in the ACR Trainee of the Year Awards 2024.

Michael (Mick) Brady and Alex Forkings beat fierce competition to reach the final stage in the “refrigeration and air conditioning engineer” category.

They were nominated by team leaders and course tutors due to their “ability, enthusiasm, progress as engineers and future potential in the industry”.

Brett Smith, operations director at Climarite Refrigeration, said: “It’s testament to the hard work Alex and Mick put in that they have reached this stage of the awards.

“Both are extremely dedicated to their jobs and further studies. They make fantastic role models, not only to their peers and fellow trainees but all those around them – their work ethic and professional standards are second-to-none.”

Last year the pair began an apprenticeship at City of Liverpool College to further develop their skills and expertise, which will lead them to a level three qualification to become fully qualified RACHP engineers.

They will attend the ACR Trainee of the Year Awards final on 5 December at the Leeds Marriott Hotel where they will find out if they have won either a bronze, silver or gold award.

Both nominees also reached the finals in the RAC Cooing Awards and BIBA Awards earlier this year.
