CMA to probe GXO’s acquisition of Wincanton

London, UK: The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is investigating GXO’s completed £762m acquisition of Wincanton.

The watchdog said it has served an initial enforcement order to the companies on 26 April.
When GXO completed its acquisition on 29 April it said that the company and Wincanton would “continue to be run independently” until the CMA had completed its review.

GXO outbid Ceva Logistics for Wincanton earlier in the year. Wincanton operates in a range of markets, including groceries. Customers include supermarkets Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Asda.
