Warwick, UK: Gist and Magnavale were among the winners of the Cold Chain Sustainability Awards 2024, announced during the Cold Chain Federation’s Climate Summit at Warwick University last week.
Other award winners included Lineage Logistics and Star Refrigeration. F W Mansfield & Son won two awards – one for energy efficiency (small cold store of the year) and one for sustainable cold storage operator of the year.
Richard Doyle, head of safety and sustainability at the company, said: “F W Mansfield has placed a priority on sustainability, and made a commitment we would do our very best this year. Having an industry body that is recognising good work in the industry is going to promote further improvement and promote investment, and that’s where we’re going to see real change.”
Dr Rob Lamb, group sales and marketing director of Star Refrigeration, said: “These awards are a way of demonstrating good practice, sharing good ideas and sharing innovations and how they manage to reduce energy and CO2 emissions is really important. Getting that known to industry is going to be key to achieving the goals that we’re trying to achieve. It’s a collaborative process all the way.”
