DDK Projects is proud to have successfully delivered a state-of-the-art 375,000 sq ft manufacturing facility for leading frozen ready meal producer Inspired Global Cuisine (IGC) in Oldham.
Representing part of IGC’s £90 million investment, the development is believed to be the largest ready meal production facility in Europe completed to date. The facility includes 150,000 sq ft of temperature-controlled freezer warehousing alongside 150,000 sq ft production space, creating a state-of-the art manufacturing environment designed to support significant future growth.
Delivered under a Design & Build contract, the project required close collaboration from the earliest Discovery phase through detailed design, construction and commissioning. DDK worked alongside the client and supply chain partners to ensure the facility was fully operational and ready to support production from day one.
As a flagship development, the project demonstrates strong confidence in both the UK food manufacturing sector and the continued growth in consumer demand for high-quality frozen ready meals. Every aspect of the facility was carefully planned, from complex drainage infrastructure, electrical and gas supply upgrades, through to optimising process flows alongside the process engineering teams. Together, these elements enable the facility to produce up to 100 million meals.
