Dublin, Ireland: Dixon International Logistics has bought Carna Transport.
This is Dixon’s first acquisition since Erisbeg, an Irish growth capital investor, invested in the company last year.
Carna will continue to operate independently from its locations in Monaghan and Armagh, Northern Ireland.
The acquisition will take Dixon’s turnover to to over €70 million and give it a fleet of more than 300 trucks and 500 trailers. Dixon’s turnover for its most recent financial year was €43.5m.
Dixon said the acquisition would advance its ambition to be a leading temperature-controlled logistics provider connecting Ireland, the EU and Britain.
Michael Dixon, managing director, Dixon International Logistics, said: “Geographically, the location of Carna’s operation blends seamlessly into our own business, enhancing our customer service and allowing best-in-class practices to be shared with our existing Dixon operations in Dublin and Coventry.”
Dixon provides temperature-controlled freight and logistics services to the food, pharmaceutical, e-commerce and retail sectors.
