Santiago, Chile: Emergent Cold Latin America is expanding its El Olivo site in Maipú, Santiago, Chile. The move, which aims to boost efficiency and safety, will increase the site’s capacity to 32,000 pallet positions.
Joaquín Del Campo, managing director for the Pacific Region at Emergent Cold LatAm, highlighted the importance of automation in improving operational efficiency and said the expansion would reinforce the company’s leadership in temperature-controlled food logistics in Latin America.
The development is part of Emergent Cold LatAm’s strategic growth in Chile, including the expansion of its Talcahuano warehouse, now the country’s largest cold storage site. Emergent says the company’s San Pedro de La Paz warehouse is the first in the world to achieve EDGE Zero Carbon certification for sustainable operations in the temperature-controlled food storage industry.
