First fuel cell large van

Hanover, Germany:  Hyundai and Iveco Group unveiled a prototype Daily hydrogen fuel cell electric van, at the IAA Transport show in Hanover.

It uses Hyundai’s 90kW hydrogen fuel cell and 140kW e-motor. Six tanks offer a combined storage capacity of 12kg of hydrogen.

The 7.2 tonne prototype, which has been tested in Europe, has a range of 350km, 3-tonne payload and re-fuelling time of 15 minutes.

The hydrogen powered van will be tested with selected customers later this year.

Iveco also has a production battery powered electric Daily van in production.
