GCCA appoints South African committee members

Cape Town, South Africa: Members of the Global Cold Chain Alliance in South Africa have pledged their time and commitment to serve on the GCCA Risk Management Committee and the GCCA Food Safety and Compliance Committee.

The Risk Management Committee was established to study and review items related to risk management in cold storage facilities at all levels of operations, with a goal of improving performance and minimizing the risk of members and the industry at large.

The eight members serving on the committee in 2023 are:

  • Gerhard Coetzee, financial director, Sequence Logistics (chair)
  • Carlos De Mendonca, general manager, Crossberth Cold Stores (vice-chair)
  • Alasdair Martin, risk and compliance executive, Vector Logistics
  • Glen Vincent, business development Africa executive, Digistics
  • Greg Stephenson, operations manager, Reefer Cold Storage
  • Ivan Sutic, financial director, Chilleweni Cold Storage Solutions
  • Mesuli Mdluli, maintenance manager, CCS Logistics
  • Ronald Williams, operations manager, CCS Logistics

The Food Safety & Compliance Committee was created so that members could discuss the regulations and standards impacting the cold chain logistics and cold storage industry in South Africa and collectively build stronger relationships between industry and related government agencies.

The nine committee members serving on the committee in 2023 are:
