International Cargo Logistics (ICL) is continuing its growth trajectory and strengthening its UK presence following the launch of a new branch in Felixstowe. The East Suffolk opening represents the fifth[1] UK office for the award-winning global freight solutions provider, with the business also running a further two overseas operations in The Netherlands and Vietnam.
Joe Walsh, a seasoned logistics professional is heading up the Felixstowe office, bringing over 22 years’ industry experience, with the last four years spent in a similar Branch Manager role overseeing ocean, air, road and rail transport operations alongside the delivery of warehouse and customs clearance services. Initially Joe will be supported by a Senior Import / Export operator with plans to expand the team as the Felixstowe office emulates the success of the Bristol and Manchester offerings, which both opened two years ago.
Felixstowe is a natural choice of location for ICL’s latest office given the Port of Felixstowe’s ranking as the country’s largest container port, handling 48% of the UK’s containerised freight[2]. With a heritage spanning 150 years, Felixstowe is closer than any other port to the main shipping lanes and the ports of Northern Europe and is ideally placed as a gateway to Europe and Asia.
