IOR names two new fellows

Andrew Channon of Plymouth-based ChanniCool Training Services, and Richard Lawton of Cambridge Refrigeration Technology have been recognised as fellows of the Institute of Refrigeration.

Recognised for their leadership and contribution to the RACHP industry, their achievements cover areas including promoting skills, technical development and international outreach.

As owner of ChanniCool Training, Andrew Channon has worked with City & Guilds to develop and enhance several of their courses, and was among the first to adopt the new Trailblazer apprenticeships.

Richard Lawton is a long‑standing member of the UN Technical Options Committee and convenor for TC104 refrigerated containers. He has authored several IOR papers and has been active in IIR committees, notably as president of commission D of the IIR, and in the IOR’s international committee work. His contributions also extend to the International Cold Chain Conferences, where he has been a regular and valued contributor.

Nominations for fellowships, backed by personal statements and letters of support from sponsors, are assessed each February by the IOR membership committee.
