Manchester, UK: 2U Food, has taken delivery of the first 11 of a planned 21 new 3.5-tonne Isuzu Grafters with specialist Jiffy Banquet bodywork.
The custom-built bodywork has an oven, ambient storage and refrigerated compartment for hot and cold food, plus drinks. With features such as an auto on/off hand wash unit designed to help 2U Food maintain its five-star hygiene rating, the new vehicles will provide mobile catering solutions to businesses across the Northwest of England, the company says.
Paul Foster, managing director, 2U Food, says: “We are consistently impressed by the performance and reliability of every Isuzu in our fleet. When you add the superb aftersales support we receive from the dealer network, it’s clear to see why we’ve returned to them time and time again.
“Our fleet is continually growing, and we now regard Isuzu Truck as our most trusted chassis partner; their vehicles keep the wheels of our business turning.”
“Historically, we used to keep two spare vehicles to provide cover for breakdowns, as we would never want to risk letting our customers down. However, since moving to Isuzu, we’ve found we no longer need to do that. With the Grafter we reliably get more miles from every one on the fleet, with significantly less downtime.”

John Briggs, managing director, Jiffy Trucks, said: “Paul first introduced us to the Isuzu chassis in 2018, and since then we have completed more than 350 conversions. Isuzu is always a pleasure to work with and despite being a major manufacturer, it has the feel of a ‘family-run’ business where nothing is too much trouble.”
The new Isuzu trucks will operate Monday to Friday, clocking up between 200 and 700 miles per week. They leave 2U Food’s hub in Rainford and Manchester each morning, delivering food across Cheshire, Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside. When they visit a stop they simply ‘beep the horn’ and begin trading.
