Iveco plants a tree for every vehicle sold

Basildon, Iveco has pledged to plant a tree sapling for every new Iveco vehicle sold backdated to January 2022.

Iveco is working with the Future Forest Company on the tree planting initiative. The Future Forest Company plans to remove a million tonnes of carbon from the atmosphere by 2030.

Its UK tree-planting program not only aims to improve air quality but also be a further environmental benefit by creating new habitats for wildlife to thrive. These new forests will greatly help restore essential biodiversity and protect endangered species, Future Forest Company says.

Tom Newell, UK general manager, Future Forest Company said: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Iveco. By choosing to plant trees with the Future Forest Company, Iveco is having a real impact towards increasing UK forest cover, improving biodiversity, and reversing the climate crisis.”

Iveco continues its own decarbonisation journey with the introduction of the electric E-Daily. The Daily, Eurocargo and Iveco S-Way natural gas variants are able to run on biomethane, a fuel that results in an up to 95% reduction in CO2 versus a diesel equivalent.

Lisa Fuller, brand marketing and communications manager, Iveco UK said: “Iveco is very proud to be part of this initiative that enhances our work towards a sustainable future. Our electric and biomethane-compatible vehicles dramatically cut emissions, while every new tree planted will help tackle carbon existing in the atmosphere.”
