London, UK: JJ Foodservice has reported record sales in August as the eating out market picks up and consumers continue to shop in bulk.
For the four weeks in August 2020, total sales at jumped by 9.27% compared with the same period the previous year.
JJ Foodservice picked up thousands of new customers after launching a business-to-consumer service at the start of the pandemic.
“We reacted immediately to the lockdown with the launch of our next-day home delivery service”, said the company.
JJ Foodservice’s foodservice business, to restaurants, also increased.
“We have worked hard over the past five months to maintain a robust and reliable supply chain. As a result, many of the restaurants and takeaways who were trading over the lockdown period turned to JJ. After trying us out – many have decided to stay,” said the company.
