Aylesford, Kent: KFF has acquired 18 Iveco Daily vans with twin-compartment Solomon Commercials bodies and Hubbard multi-temp fridges.
KFF supplies frozen, chilled and ambient foods to wholesalers and hospitality outlets in the south of England and Midlands from two sites at Aylesford, Kent and Witney, Oxfordshire.
The 71-vehicle fleet with twin-compartment bodies make some 20 drops a day, six days per week.
Philip White, managing director, KFF, says: “After much consultation with our key customers and suppliers, developing new offerings and meeting the needs and expectations of our customers is a critical part of our business philosophy.
“Delivering products that are the cornerstones of our customers’ offerings, promptly and in the finest condition possible is the key to our success. The choice and specification of refrigeration units had to match our Corporate and Social Responsibility commitment to reduce our carbon footprint.”
The Hubbard Z380SBAT is a 3.9kW unit able to cool 28 m³. Two compressors are used, the first in the engine compartment provides “road mode” while the mains compressor is mounted under the body and powered by an external electrical source when the van is parked.
The Z380S multi-temperature model is designed to meet the needs of transporting products in multiple compartments and at different temperatures.
The evaporator is placed directly on the ceiling of the cell, avoiding the need to reduce the load volume.
