Novi, Michigan, US: Lineage Logistics has become the largest temperature-controlled warehousing and logistics company in the world, according to the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses.
The IARW has published its annual list of the Top 25 largest refrigerated warehousing and logistics providers that shows the total capacity of temperature-controlled space operated by IARW warehouse members.
Lineage was set up in 2008 and now operates in Belgium, the Netherlands, the UK and the US with over 42m cubic metres of capacity.
Lineage acquired Yearsley Logistics in November 2018, helping it to the number one spot. It has also bought Partner Logistics in the UK and Preferred Freezer Services in the US.
Lineage’s most recent acquisition is two sites from Van Soest Coldstores, a Netherlands-based chilled and frozen food products storage provider. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Under the terms of the agreement, Lineage acquired Van Soest’s facilities in Venlo, Netherlands, and Rijkevorsel, Belgium, to complement the Company’s existing presence in both countries. Van Soest’s facility in Gamaren, Netherlands, a joint-venture and newly formed business, was not part of the transaction.
