Copenhagen, Denmark: Maersk Container Industry has launched its Sekstant Door Sensor for its Star Cool reefers. The Sekstant Door Sensor is integrated with the Star Cool controller and helps mitigate undesired door openings, smuggling, and theft.
“One of the most significant benefits of the Sekstant Door Sensor is that it captures door events even if the reefer is not plugged into power. This feature is especially useful for shipping companies that need to manage their reefers remotely. The door events are captured both on and off power, and they are available in both datalog and Sekstant, ensuring that users always have access to up-to-date information about your reefers,” Maersk says.
“With the introduction of the new Sekstant Door Sensor, we take another step in improving security of reefers around the world. The sensor has a battery lifetime of 10 plus years, providing long-term reliability and reducing maintenance costs.
