Gujarat, India: Maersk has started work on its new 260,000sq ft temperature-controlled site in Gujarat, west India. The warehouse will provide temperature-controlled frozen food storage for HyFun Foods.
The cold store, with capacity for 14,700 pallets, will be constructed close to HyFun Foods’ manufacturing base. It will be “one of India’s largest single-shed cold stores”, says Maersk.
“The large facility will help the customer store all the cargo in a single facility instead of multiple smaller facilities before dispatch,” says Maersk.
The site will use ammonia refrigeration, which is a natural gas with no global warming potential (GWP). It will also use high-efficiency compressors that operate with lower power consumption.
