McLanachan adds 13 Scania tractors

Glasgow, Scotland: McLanachan Transport has added thirteen new tractors, the final part of its twenty-unit acquisition. Ten of the Scanias are Sleeper Highlines bought outright with a further ten on lease from Scania.

Damian McLanachan, managing director, McLanachan Transport, said: “We work with some of Europe’s largest food and pharmaceutical manufacturers who regularly require high-volume deliveries from the Scottish Highlands to the Swiss Alps, and our fleet must be capable of matching their high demands. These are the same demands we place on ourselves and our drivers; we want them to have the best vehicles and trailers as they traverse the continent.”

“The £2.5 million investment by MTL and our lease agreement with Scania will help us achieve our five-year strategic plan and allow us to push ahead with longer-term growth ambitions to keep MTL at the forefront of European Logistics,” he said.

The delivery of the Scania tractor units is part of a fleet upgrade, including several multi temperature Gray & Adams trailers fitted with Thermo King SLXi fridges.
