More Brexit red tape – ENS/ICS safety and security declarations

London, UK: A Safety and Security declaration is a mandatory requirement from 1 January 2021 for vehicles leaving the GB, and from 1 July, for vehicles arriving to the UK.

It is a separate process from an export / import declaration and is wholly the haulier or carrier’s responsibility to complete.

Failure to complete a declaration will result in delays, fines and ultimately the possibility of entry rejection into the country in question. Motis ICS is an online system that allows users to create and lodge safety and security declarations into the Import Control System, which operators will be required to complete as part of ferry bookings, and enabling goods to move between Britain, the European Union and Northern Ireland.
