More data sharing between Thermo King, BPW and Idem Telematics

Munich, Germany: Customers using Idem telematics now have access to all data from Thermo King fridges and BPW AxlePower energy generators..The three companies collaborate to share data with customers to provide better visibility of their refrigeration systems, tractors and trailers regardless of their preferred platform.

Thermo King’s TracKing e-Vision solution provides customers with insights on the performance of the AxlePower system in combination with the Thermo King cooling unit, as well as Trailer EBS and TPMS insights, the company says. Customers using Idem telematics platform Cargofleet 3, will also have access to all Thermo King refrigeration units’ and AxlePower smart energy generating system’s performance data.

The AxlePower combines BPW’s ePower axle with Thermo King trailer fridge and power management technology. The system delivers the electric power needed to run the cooling unit by converting energy recovered by the trailer’s axle during braking and driving downhill.

“This collaboration marks another step in Thermo King’s journey within the digital space, demonstrating our dedication to operating within an ecosystem,” said Isil Dedeoglu, vice president for services and aftermarket, Thermo King Europe, Middle East and Africa.
“We understand our cooling units are at the heart of refrigerated transport and we want to ensure our customers have the tools to optimise their operations, using their preferred integrated platform, complementing Thermo King’s TracKing system.”

“With more than 120.000 units in the market our open-system, cloud-based telematics portal Cargofleet 3 is regarded as the de facto standard for transport telematics in the industry. It allows us to easily integrate and consolidate data from different sources,” said Jens Zeller, managing director, Idem Telematics.

“We are therefore delighted to be working with Thermo King to also provide seamless access to Thermo King TRU data via our Cargofleet 3 system. In this way, we are offering new opportunities for transparent and user-friendly transport management, especially for hauliers who want to digitalise their entire cold chain.”
