Northgate Mobility* launched to consolidate Corporate and Insurance vehicle hire and claims services for customers

From January, Northgate Mobility has been created to provide a more joined-up, efficient proposition to support customers across the full vehicle mobility lifecycle.

Northgate Mobility will comprise Northgate Vehicle Hire UK and Ireland, insurance replacement vehicle provider Auxillis, traffic management and refrigerated hire specialists Blakedale and FridgeXpress, ChargedEV and Principia Law.

This consolidates their capabilities under a single Northgate Mobility business as part of the ZIGUP plc group.

Over a phased 12-15-month transition, Auxillis, Blakedale and FridgeXpress will become Northgate Insurance Services, Northgate Highways, and Northgate Temperature Controlled respectively. ChargedEV and Principia Law will sit within Northgate Mobility while retaining their existing company names, with the day-to-day operations of all companies remaining unchanged throughout the transition.

The Northgate Mobility Group of businesses will be led by managing director Neil McCrossan, who was previously Managing Director of Northgate UK and Ireland. Mel Bebbington, who leads Auxillis will lead the rebranded Northgate Insurance Services business. Jon Taylor who has led Blakedale since the business was acquired will head up the rebranded Northgate Highways business.  Adam Naylor who leads FridgeXpress will lead the rebranded Northgate Temperature Controlled business.

Van Monster will remain as the group’s defleeting arm, selling vehicles on behalf of Northgate Mobility both physically and online.

Building on its ‘Customer First One Road’ initiative – which combines all parts of the business through a single point of customer contact – Northgate Mobility’s approach allows customers to access vehicle hire, a full range of fleet management and support solutions, insurance services, specialist vehicles, and EV charging, through a simpler, unified customer proposition.

Northgate Mobility’s ‘One Fleet’ approach will deliver to customers a fleet size of 80,000 vehicles comprising a full range of LCVs, both ICE and BHEV powered. The fleet includes over 2,000 specialist traffic management and temperature-controlled vehicles and 15,000 cars.

All vehicles and services will be available to all customers across 73 fully equipped rental and workshop locations. Specialist vehicles services will continue to be managed and delivered by our specialist teams.

Neil McCrossan, Managing Director, Northgate Mobility, said: “Northgate Mobility brings together a broad range of specialist capabilities under one clear structure, making it easier for our colleagues to be One Team, united in a single Mission focused on delivering our Customer First ethic and on making things better for customers and colleagues. By aligning these businesses and brands we’re creating a more connected, responsive mobility business that’s built to support customers today and evolve with them in the future.”

Harvey Stead, CEO UK & Ireland at ZIGUP plc said: “This is an important next step in simplifying and strengthening our mobility offering. By bringing our specialist capabilities together under Northgate Mobility, we can work more closely, move faster and focus on delivering the core services our customers rely on.”
