Rochelle Park, New Jersey, USA: Orbcomm has launched a new ‘smart’ management system for refrigerated containers.
It allows end-to-end monitoring of cargo, remote visibility and control of containers on land, rail and sea.
Orbcomm’s s data-driven refrigerated container management provides customers with remote, two-way control of reefers to monitor critical parameters and take quick, corrective action to adjust temperature, humidity, controlled atmosphere settings, cold treatment and more, all from a centralised location.
Customers can set alerts that notify excursions to specified reefer temperature, humidity and controlled atmosphere levels, equipment malfunctions, route deviations and unauthorised door opening, helping to ensure cargo quality and compliance and mitigate costly claims.
The device integrates with Orbcomm’s ReeferConnect and VesselConnect platforms to show real-time reefer location, status, alerts and other critical data insights through a single view for better decision making, business planning and service levels.
The device supports a variety of wireless sensors, which deliver additional data including door, temperature and cargo status.
