Paralympics’ traffic warning

London, UK: The Paralympic Games begin today so the Paralympic Route Network is now in operation.

The Games’ Opening Ceremony takes place this evening at the Olympic Stadium.

A spokesperson for Transport for London, said: “During the Olympic Games, transport ran smoothly due to high levels of operational delivery and because people listened and acted. Transport will run smoothly during the Paralympic Games too, provided people keep planning and avoid the busiest times and places.”

The Freight Transport Association warns: “The PRN is likely to be very busy around the main venues and on the route from the City to the Olympic Park and on the A102 approach roads north and south of the Blackwall Tunnel, so please avoid these routes if you can.”

The Paralympic Games is the world’s second largest sporting event, with around 2.5 million tickets issued.
