Renault offers EO charging on electric vehicles

Warwick, UK: Renault Trucks UK is offering EO charging as part of its campaign to promote electric vehicles to small businesses.

Grahame Neagus, head of LCV for Renault Trucks UK, said: “Many operators are unsure how to make the move to electromobility, and we want to make that transition as easy as possible.

“The Renault Trucks Master ZE can be specified in a wide range of vehicle applications, and in working with EO Charging we can offer a charging solution which is as capable and flexible as our fully electric vehicle.”

The EO Genius is a ‘smart enabled’ charge point. Once connected to the EO Hub, it offers fleets and commercial vehicle drivers features such as ‘Site Load Management’ and access to EO’s online cloud management platform. The EO Genius is used by a number of the UK’s commercial fleets including Sainsbury’s Online, Ocado and Gnewt Cargo.

Charlie Jardine, chief executive, EO Charging, said: “Businesses are increasingly seeking cleaner, more environmentally-friendly vehicles to address the challenges of increasing legislation and rising customer expectations. We know that charging convenience is a major barrier for operators and so have partnered with Renault Trucks to offer commercial charging solutions for UK customers buying a Master ZE in 2020.”

“Over the past couple of years, we’ve developed best-in-class chargepoints that allow business owners to scale their charging infrastructure alongside the growth of their electric fleet. We’re excited to be working closely with Renault Trucks to help more operators introduce electric light commercial vehicles to their fleets,” he said.

The Renault Trucks Master ZE is available in various applications including refrigerated: “We enjoy working with EO Charging – they offer a proactive and customer-led approach which complements our own. As operators begin the transition to electric vehicles in 2020, it is good to offer charging solutions which can grow with them as EVs become the core of their fleets in the years to come,” Neagus said.

The first 50 Renault Trucks Master ZEs ordered by retail and SME operators in the UK this year will receive a free 22kW EO Genius smart charger
