South Africa: Commercial Cold Holdings buys I-Dube Cold Storage

Durban, South Africa: Commercial Cold Holdings has bought I-Dube Cold Storage. The purchase takes Commercial Cold Holdings capacity to 153 000 pallet positions in 11 sites in South Africa and Namibia.

Francois Roux, chief commercial officer, Commercial Cold Holdings said I-Dube would increase its capacity in KwaZulu-Natal to 25 000 pallet positions.

The acquisition is Commercial Cold Holdings ‘s third deal after acquiring CCS Logistics and Sequence Logistics last year.Commercial Cold Holdings set up last year with funds managed by African Infrastructure Investment Managers to improve essential food security across sub-Saharan Africa through temperature-controlled logistics infrastructure.

The addition of the I-Dube will provide 9 000 pallets of refrigerated capacity in Durban, adding a critical port location for imports.
