The British electric transport refrigeration manufacturer has entered the Spanish market, with logistics operator Grupo Carreras beginning a pilot deployment of Sunswap Endurance in May 2026.
The expansion is supported by a partnership with SOR Iberica, part of the Reefer Group, which has manufactured refrigerated trailers in Spain since 1970. The partnership gives operators a direct route to trialling and purchasing Endurance in Spain.
Grupo Carreras, running more than 1,000 vehicles across Spain and Portugal, is the first Spanish operator to confirm Endurance in its fleet. Further operator deployments are already confirmed, with additional details to be shared in the coming weeks.
Spanish operators run temperature-controlled fleets in some of the most demanding ambient conditions in Europe. Fuel costs are rising and customers are asking questions about emissions. Endurance is already operating in Chile and Australia – markets where high ambient temperatures and long routes set a high bar for electric refrigeration. In Australia, Protran Solutions ran 1,671km – Sydney to Brisbane and back, frozen meat and chilled eggs simultaneously, across 32 hours and finished with 62% battery remaining.
Sunswap is already trusted by Tesco, DFDS, Ocado, and Birds Eye – operators who are seeing up to 81% reductions in operating costs compared to diesel. The same technology, the same service model, and the same performance data are now available to Spanish fleets through SOR Iberica.
