Tesco has retained the ‘Retailer of the Year’ title at the Free From Awards 2026, underlining the strength and consistency of its free from offer.
The award recognises retailers whose products achieve the highest scores across multiple categories, positioning the accolade as a key benchmark for quality and innovation.
Sponsored by Oakland International, long-standing supporters of the Free From Awards, widely regarded as the UK’s leading celebration of free from food and drink, the win reflects Tesco’s continued investment in both its dedicated Free From range and wider category development.
Sallie Attwell, Co-Founder of Oakland International, said: “The quality within free from continues to accelerate, and Tesco’s performance reflects the high standards continuing to be achieved across the sector.
“It’s great to see so many brands and retailers driving the category forward.”
Oakland International, a Certified B Corporation, provides supply chain solutions including consolidation, contract packing and distribution, and continues to support the growth of the free from sector alongside its net zero ambitions.
Awards’ CEO Cressida Langlands commented: “Tesco saw off M&S and Asda to retain Retailer of the Year by a quality margin, illustrating once again Tesco’s superb quality, but also that retailers are all continuing to up their game to ensure a broader than ever provision of Free From across the UK’s supermarkets, for easy, safe delicious and accessible food and drink.”
