The search for Transport Manager of Year begins

Tunbridge Wells, UK: The Freight Transport Association’s annual quest for Transport Manager of the Year is underway.

Fifty finalists, selected by the association will take part at an event in Haddenham on 24 April backed by Daf Trucks April. Candidates will undertake a series of role-relevant challenges in order to test the knowledge and skills they need to be a great transport manager.

The winner is announced a lunch time ceremony on 6 May where the competition’s winners will be recognised, including the overall FTA Transport Manager of the Year. FTA’s Young Transport Manager of the Year will also be recognised, as the competition looks to identify the rising stars within the logistics sector.

As well as gaining recognition from their peers and other industry professionals, there will be prizes for the award winners.Carlie Nowell, head of events, FTA said the event “celebrates the important work carried out by transport managers.”

“The Young Transport Manager of the Year” award will also recognise the next generation of emerging talent which will be vital to the continued success of our industry. Young people are the future of our sector, and it is important to recognise the talent of those who will be at the heart of logistics operations nationwide for many years to come.”
