Magnum™ Eco takes centre stage in Rotterdam as Thermo King highlights lower-GWP refrigerants, controlled atmosphere technology and flexible power solutions for every reefer fleet.
Brussels, Belgium — November 3, 2026 – Thermo King®, a leader in transport temperature control solutions and a brand of Trane Technologies, will exhibit at Intermodal Europe 2026 in Rotterdam from November 10-12. Showcasing a broad portfolio of ready-now solutions, Thermo King will highlight technologies designed to help lower total cost of ownership, enhance sustainability, and provide reliable cargo protection. Taking centre stage is the new Magnum™ Eco refrigeration unit, which has recently passed its first thousand orders, demonstrating its impact on modern marine refrigeration.
“Sustainability is top of mind across the supply chain. Shipping lines need to reduce power consumption, transition to lower global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants and rigorously protect cargo to minimise food loss,” said Didier Beaugé, Vice President for Thermo King Marine and Engineering at Thermo King. “At Intermodal Europe, we are demonstrating technologies that are not future concepts, but ready-now solutions to these needs. From our Magnum Eco platform to gensets capable of powering virtually any reefer on the market, we are providing a complete portfolio that gives customers confidence today.”
At the centre of the Thermo King showcase is the Magnum™ Eco, engineered for reliability, durability, and a lower total cost of ownership. Designed in accordance with ISO20854:2019, it responds to the market’s shift towards lower GWP refrigerants. he unit is factory-supplied with the ultra-low-GWP refrigerant R-1234yf (IPCC AR6 rating: 0.501) or with R-134a or R-513A, offering customers flexibility in refrigerant choice and a practical upgrade path over time.
The Magnum Eco on display will also feature the Thermo King Active Fresh module. As shipping durations extend, precise control of air composition becomes as important as temperature, humidity and airflow. This active controlled atmosphere technology helps protect cargo quality during longer voyages, supporting both climacteric fruits such as apples, avocados, bananas, kiwi and mangoes, and non-climacteric fruits such as blueberries, grapes, melons and pineapples.
For applications with more demanding temperature requirements, Thermo King will also highlight the Magnum™ Plus, capable of maintaining set-points as low as -40°C with best in class pull down and Active Fresh module option. For ultra-low temperature cargoes, including seafood, pharmaceuticals and enzymes requiring temperature control between -70°C and -40°C, the Thermo King SuperFreezer offers a specialised solution.
Klinge, part of the Thermo King portfolio, will also be present on the stand, showcasing its TCR 111 container refrigeration model for specialised application requirements.
On the power generation side of the portfolio, Thermo King will present two versions of its
SG-3500 genset at the show: the SG-3500 Clip-On and SG-3500 Flex-Mount. Designed to power virtually any ISO 1496-2 reefer container, regardless of brand, model or age, the range offers operators flexible, dependable power options across mixed fleets. This broad compatibility, combined with Thermo King’s power pack and controller expertise, has made the range a trusted choice for container transport operations worldwide.
Thermo King and Klinge will exhibit at stand B30 of Intermodal Europe 2026 in Rotterdam from 10–12 November.
