Thomas Hughes is Constellation Ireland managing director

Dublin, Ireland: Thomas Hughes is the new managing director for Constellation Ireland. His appointment follows the acquisition of VF Coldstores in Dublin and Colso Coldstorage in Cork, completed earlier this month.

Thomas Hughes is the new managing director for Constellation Ireland

Hughes was formerly managing director Ireland for Americold. He started his career as a general warehouse worker, and has a deep practical knowledge of warehouse operations, the cold storage business and the Irish market, Constellation says.

“Thomas joins Constellation to lead the Ireland operations. His leadership will facilitate Constellation’s growth plans in Ireland and the integration of VF and Colso. Thomas will work closely alongside Vincent Flanagan at VF and Deirdre Collins at Colso,” Constellation says.

“I am really looking forward to working with Vincent, Deirdre, and the rest of the Constellation team”, said Hughes. “There is a great opportunity to grow the business further and support Irish food production and supply chains, and I am excited to be leading this”.

Carlos Rodriguez, chief executive, Constellation, said: “I’ve known and worked with Thomas for many years, I am confident that he is the right person to work with the VF and Colso teams, lead our growth strategy in Ireland and support our existing and new customers”.

Constellation Ireland’s entities VF and Colso will also be rebranded to Constellation Cold Logistics Dublin and Constellation Cold Logistics Cork in the next few weeks. This follows the rebranding of the rest of the Constellation network that completed last month. The rebranding will help bring the Irish entities closer to the rest of Constellation, and allow the company to better share capabilities in its network.
