Trade deals with Australia and New Zealand boost JS Davidson’s business

Peterborough, UK: JS Davidson (formerly Chiltern Cold Storage) has won new contracts since the free trade agreements with Australia and New Zealand came into effect at the end of May last year.

Managing director John Davidson said the company had negotiated contracts with a number of suppliers importing chilled meats from Australia and New Zealand.

Under the agreement, producers of more than 99% of goods coming from Australia and New Zealand into the UK are no longer subject to tariffs.

Davidson said: “Over the past few months demand for our services for chilled meats has risen quite substantially and we are working with some prestigious companies.

“We expect the rising trend to continue over time as more free trade agreements are signed.”
