Global climate innovator Trane Technologies (NYSE: TT) and its industry leading Thermo King brand, a leader in sustainable transport temperature control solutions, has completed the acquisition of Thermo King Northern, a longstanding Thermo King and Frigoblock dealer serving the northern UK market. The transaction closed early February and was marked with a celebration welcome for employees on February 10. The company now continues operations as part of Thermo King UK.
The acquisition marks another major step in Thermo King’s strategy to continue strengthening the widest and industry-leading transport refrigeration service network in the UK and across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). It follows the company’s March 2025 acquisition of Marshall Fleet Solutions. Together, these strategic investments significantly expand the scale, reach, and leadership of Thermo King UK as the company accelerates growth.
Thermo King Northern has represented Thermo King as a dealership in the region for more than 40 years, selling, distributing and as a service provider of Thermo King transport refrigerated solutions. Headquartered in Carlisle, England, with additional service locations in Glasgow and County Durham, the company provides comprehensive transport refrigeration, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), commercial refrigeration and cold storage services, including equipment installation, maintenance, repairs, and tail lift support to customers across northern England and Scotland. The acquisition includes Thermo King Northern’s full operations, its strong customer base, and a talented team of service engineers and transport refrigeration solutions experts.
