Portland, Oregon, USA: The UK cold chain logistics market is set to grow by 23.6% from 2019 to 2026 to reach $24.37bn according to a new report.
The report, UK cold chain Logistics Market by End user Industry: Opportunity Analysis and Industry Forecast, 2018-2026, by Allied Market Research, vaues the UK market at $4.55bn in 2018.
The meat, fish, and sea food segment dominates the UK cold chain logistics market, followed by fruits and vegetables, bakery and confectionary, drugs and pharmaceuticals, dairy and frozen desserts with the latter expected to grow at a significant rate during the forecast period, according to the report.
It notes the rise in online grocery shopping that has resulted in increased coldstore capacity.
The UK is the third largest online grocery market in the world after South Korea and Japan. Furthermore, around 6.1% of the grocery sales in the UK are made online, propelling UK cold chain logistics market growth, the report says.
