UKWA launches Emergency Space Register

London, UK: The United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA) has launched an Emergency Space Register, urging members to provide details of warehousing space available.

UKWA will then collate the information into a weekly register so that available space for pallets can be identified easily.

“While outbound flows from distribution centres of non-essential goods grind to a halt in the face of retail and manufacturing closures, due to COVID-19 restrictions, inbound flows continue to arrive at UK ports and accordingly warehouses are rapidly becoming full.,” says the association.

“Latest research by UKWA indicates that there is currently just 10% market availability of pallet space, which means no capacity within a matter of weeks.

“Members are urged to contact us to provide details of any available space as soon as possible.”
