Swindon, UK: The UK Warehousing Association (UKWA) is holding a Solar Showcase in Swindon on 7 September to discuss solar power on warehouse rooftops. The event, being held at Howard Tenens Logistics’ warehouse, will cover how to finance a solar project, including a special asset finance deal from SGEF.
UKWA will also be launching a legal guidance note from Weightmans, which explains some of the contractual considerations for occupiers of leased warehouse properties when entering a Power Purchase Agreement.
Representatives of the trade bodies Solar Energy UK and the National Federation of Roofing Contractors will answer questions from the audience. Clegg Gifford will outline insurance requirements.
Every UKWA member who attends will receive a copy of the association’s Solar Toolkit, with step-by-step guidance to help plan a rooftop solar project.
UKWA says: “Did you know that only 5% of UK warehouses have solar panels on the roof? Yet collectively, we have enough roof-space to double the UK’s capacity for renewable energy from solar power and help the country achieve its Net Zero ambitions.”
