Updated guidance on safe working on cold store ceilings

London, UK: The Institute of Refrigeration (IoR) has updated its guidance on safe working on cold store ceilings. The guidance relates specifically to insulated cold and chill stores that are constructed within a building structure with ceiling panels that are supported by that structure, typically using drop rods suspended from a portal frame or building truss.

It has been revised and updated in 2024 with the addition of an Annex, “Guidance on Inspection of Cold Store Ceilings”, which provides advice for cold store owners and operators on a method statement for the inspection of their cold stores.
