XPO Logistics’ sustainability leader is vice chair of Sustainable Logistics Forum

Crick, UK: Dr Nicholas Head, XPO’s head of sustainability, has been named vice chair of the Sustainable Logistics Forum. The forum, part of Rutland Forums, represents 18 larger fleet operators. It aims to help members decarbonise their organisations quicker and more cost-effectively.

All forums meet regularly to collaborate on projects, share best practices, and work closely with the government to develop policies to accelerate the UK’s low-carbon transition. Dr Head also sits on the forum’s Board of Advisors, who represent the sustainability interests of all members, including large corporations and retailers, such as Tesco.

Dr Head said: “Decarbonising the economy and transportation in a manner that is not unduly burdensome on businesses or job creation and retention is a huge challenge that requires cross-sector collaboration as never before.

“Having the opportunity to participate in the Sustainable Logistics Forum and help guide debate among industry peers can only benefit all involved, including providing substantial opportunities to identify initiatives that can drive that decarbonisation journey.”

Haydn Young, chair, Rutland Forums & Hudle Network, said, ” Transitioning logistics to net zero is going to be a significant task and with Dr Nick’s leadership, the Sustainable Logistics Forum can put ideas into action.”
