ACS&T £1m fleet expansion

Grimsby, Lincolnshire, UK: Food specialist, ACS&T Logistics, has invested over £1m in 14 new fleet vehicles, to meet rising demand. The new vehicles will operate from its distribution centres in Grimsby, Wolverhampton, Tewkesbury and Scarborough.

Malcolm Johnstone, managing director, ACS&T, says, “This investment is a combination of expansion and renewal in our need to meet customer demand. “In recent months we have secured a series of new clients and negotiated new, extended contracts with several long term customers including Young’s Seafood and 3663.

“The selection of these vehicles was undertaken against operating and financial criteria which will ensure the continuance of our high service levels to our customers.”

“Over the next 6 months our investment programme will continue to expand our resources as we find customers’ business have grown in line with our service offering.”

“Due to ongoing cost controls and the strength of the balance sheet these investments can be made from our cash reserves.”

ACS&T operates 12 cold stores, 3 ambient stores, co-packing facilities and large, dedicated and shared user multi-temp transport fleets.
